Sony finally confirms PlayStation NEO; Will NOT be showing it at E3

President and global chief executive of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Andrew House confirmed in an interview with The Financial Times that the PlayStation Neo does, in fact, exist and will be a compliment to the current offering. House had this to say:

It is intended to sit alongside and complement the standard PS4, we will be selling both [versions] through the life cycle.

House went on to confirm that the console will sell at a higher price point that the current PS4's $350. Both consoles will have the same gaming experience, and they will BOTH support PlayStation VR, despite rumors that have been circulating to the contrary. Unfortunately, we are going to get to see the console debut at E3 next week, and House explained why:

We want to ensure we have a full range of the best experiences on the new system that we can showcase in their entirety.

It's definitely disappointing that we won't be seeing an unveil of the new powerhouse from Sony next week at E3, but at least they are taking their time to make sure it is right. I absolutely appreciate that any company in today's current gaming environment, of release and patch until it works, is willing to pull the reigns a little and not get their proverbial cart in front of the horse.
